Grace International Deliverance Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Bishop Aston W. Miller
Pastor and Founder
Bishop Aston Miller is the Founder of Grace International Deliverance Church. He is gifted with anointing and the ability to communicate the simplicity of the Gospel. Bishop Aston Miller was born in Manchester, Jamaica. He received the gift of salvation at the age of 16 and preached his first sermon at 17 years old. He migrated to the United States at the age of 17 to join his mother Vera Golding. After his arrival to the United States, his lifestyle began to change and he found himself just visiting churches. After God blessed him with his beautiful wife, he decided to rededicate his life to Christ. At that time, he became a committed member of Open Door Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) under the late Superintendent Leonard C. Reed. Superintendent Reed was his mentor and provided guidance and leadership. Bishop Aston Miller received his license to minister in 1975. Bishop Miller studied at Beth Messiah Bible Institute in Washington, DC, where he received a certificate in Pastoral Counseling. In addition to his certification, Bishop Miller earned an Associate’s degree in Ministry from Sure Foundation Bible Institute. In the Church of God in Christ ministry, he served on several Jurisdictional Boards in the United States. Bishop Aston Miller was ordained in 1984 and began his ministry as founder and pastor of Grace Temple C.OG.I.C. in Takoma Park, Maryland with seven members. In 2002, began his independent ministry as Grace International Deliverance Church in Beltsville, Maryland. In 2015, he was installed as Apostolic Bishop. He believes a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord is essential for every believer. His desire is to see the body of Christ walk together in unity. Bishop Miller is known for being a dynamic teacher, mentor, speaker, and leader.
Bishop Miller has been married to his beautiful wife, Gwendolyn Miller. God has blessed them with two children: Troy and Nalini, and son-in-law Frank.
Gwendolyn Miller
Lady
Lady (Sis.) Gwendolyn Miller is an example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Sis. Miller was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica. She’s a faithful servant to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, a loving and devoted wife for over 40 years, and a dedicated mother. As she walks alongside her husband, she serves as the Vice President of the Women Ministry and is always willing to assist in any capacity. Her role as a first lady is like none other. She is passionate about helping those in need. She is often operating in her love language of cooking and baking.
Elder Sonia Henry
Church Administrator
Elder Henry has been a member of GIDC since 1999. Elder Henry is extremely passionate about meditating on the word of God. Elder Henry was born in St. Ann, Jamaica, and came to the United States in 1975. She was saved in 1997 at a Methodist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. After receiving the Holy Ghost, she was on fire for Christ and served in many capacities within the ministry. She has an awesome testimony about the deliverance of God from nicotine. Elder Henry actively supports the church's core values, mission statement, vision, and various ministries.
Elder Henry has held several executive-level positions and is a dynamic trainer. Elder Henry is an avid bike rider. She has three adult children: Tamara, Malika, and Kordae; and two grandchildren: Xuleyka and Steffen. Elder Henry enjoys nature, and traveling and will soon add author to her many achievements in life.
Elder & Minister Mani
Tamil Ministry
Elder Mani & Minister Selvi Mani are in charge of the Tamil Ministry. They migrated from India 30 years ago and since then they have been members of GIDC. They were very active members initially and subsequently they were ordained as Elder and Minister respectively after their 3 years' college diploma course in Theology (Faith Bible Institute, Monrovia, Louisiana). As per the Holy Spirit’s direction through Bishop Miller, GIDC started the Tamil service once a month to reach out to the Indian community and they are in charge of the Tamil Service in addition to the responsibilities in GIDC. Minister Selvi Mani is also involved in the Children's ministry and health care guidelines. Elder Mani & Minister Selvi Mani are passionate about the word of God and the outreach ministries. They are good singers in their mother tongue “Tamil". You can find them in the front sanctuary.
Minister Michael Richards
Minister of Praise & Worship
Minister Richards was ordained as a minister in 2017. Minister Richards also affectionately known as Bro. Rich is the Praise & Worship Leader. Minister Rich's love for Jesus overflows in worship through song. Bro. Rich was born in Jamaica and grew up in Ministry.
He is married to Sister Judith Richards with two talented daughters: JodiKaye and Ruthann. Minister Richards runs a family owned business which started in 1996 on the tenets of providing superior and reliable carpet and upholstery cleaning.
Elder Jacqueline Ogunjulugbe
Women's Ministry
Elder/Dr. Jacqueline Ogunjulugbe was born in Rockfort, Kingston, Jamaica. She later lived in Bull Bay and was raised by her grandmother. She migrated to the USA in 1971 and lived in Brooklyn, NY. She became a Registered Nurse in 1982. She served 30 years in the United States Army and retired with the rank of Colonel. Elder Ogunjulugbe (Sister (Sis.) Jacky) has been at Grace International Deliverance Church since 1993. She serves as the President of the Ladies’ Department and is a faithful servant of the Lord and the Church. After going through a bout with cancer in 2001, Sis. Jacky’s favorite scripture has become Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Dr. Ogunjulugbe holds several degrees, an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing from Borough of Manhattan Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the State University of New York, a Master of Science in Health Administration (MSHA) from Central Michigan University, a Master of Science in Nursing/Education (MSN) from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Walden University. She is credentialed as a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR). Earning the CNOR certification is a mark of distinction and demonstrates a commitment to upholding the highest standards in patient safety. Elder Ogunjulugbe is married to Engineer Babatunde Ogunjulugbe and together they share 8 children (7 sons, 1 daughter).
Minister Dorothy Black
Hospitality Ministry
Minister Dorothy Black was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and her early education was in Catholic Schools, which influenced her Christian walk. After High School, her plans were to enter the convent and become a teacher; none of this materialized. However, she continued as a practicing Catholic until 1996 when she was water baptized in a Pentecostal Church; Covenant City Church (CCC). On her migration to the USA in 2011 she became a member of GIDC under the influence of her mother. She is an active member of GIDC and attended GIDC Bible School for two years. She currently serves as the Leader of the Hospitality Ministry. The Hospitality Ministry serves to reflect the love of Christ through expressions of gratitude, excitement, and enthusiasm, and to create a sense of belonging by making sure every visitor, member, and guest feel special and welcome in our church home. In her professional life, she has amassed a vast reservoir of knowledge and experience in the field of Information Technology. She displayed her management skill and expertise at the highest corporate level where she served with distinction in one of the major utility companies in Jamaica. She served as one of the members of the Church's Corporate Finance Committee which reported to the Board of Elders. Minister Black embodies an acute sense of social awareness and responsibility and was a driving force by her involvement with the Best Care Child Home, (now the Best Care Foundation) a home for mentally and physically challenged children. This was because of her association with Junior Chamber International (JCI); a leadership training organization; in which one of its tenets is “Service to humanity is the best work of life.” Her mantra is in Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and redeemer.” Minister Dorothy Black was born in Spanish Town, St Catherine, Jamaica She is from an exceptionally large and close-knit family. She married Bruce in 1976. They have one daughter, Sandra-Linda, and three grandsons. Her hobbies are reading and traveling.
Minister & Evangelist Forde
Minister & Church Secretary
Minister Forde and Evangelist Forde (preferably known as Sister Forde) are a part of GIDC's original members. Minister Forde and Sis. Forde were born in Jamaica. They are dedicated to sharing the gospel. Minister Forde has completed many carpentry projects around the church. Sis. Forde refers to Min. Forde as her loving best friend! They share so much wisdom about life, ministry, and marriage. COVID has been challenging for us all, however, they have managed to stay committed, connected, and safe. The GIDC family truly gives thanks to God for their steadfastness over the 38 years of ministry. You can find Minister Forde giving closing prayer and benediction for most Sunday services and Sis. Forde greeting you with the most loving "Hello, My Brother or My Sister."
